GHWS Race Day 8 - Fabulous Finale!

Published 12:09 on 1 Dec 2014
Murky fog greeted the eight Sigma 38s that motored out to the start area for the last race of the series and the year. The forecasted wind and sun eventually made an appearance so the race committee could treat the fleet to a interesting tactical cross tidal course that allowed crews to demonstrate their mark rounding skills. Persephone didn't allow the fact they had won the series two weeks ago to effect another outstanding performance and comfortable crossed the line first. The following positions didn't change the overall results, With Alacrity, second, and Light third. Paracelsus finished 6th consolidating a good solid performance. It's been a great series again and we must thank all the GHWS volunteers for their hard work and commitment.

So with the last race of the year behind us it's time to reflect on what a year it's been; the biggest National Championship entry this series, fantastic, close competition throughout the year in a number of both inshore and offshore events and most importantly a fiercely competitive yet supportive one design fleet. Let's celebrate this at the Annual Party 24th Jan 2015. The deadline for the preferential room rate is Sat. 13th Dec. For full details click Annual Party details
