Cowes Week Day 1

The opening day was bathed in glorious sunshine, with a fickle breeze that saw racing postponed for two hours. Down in the western Solent the Sigma 38 fleet eventually got away at 14:10 for a 11.9nm course that finished under spinnaker on the RYS finish line. After just over three and a half hours later Pandanova took the bullet, to take her first Cowes Week win. With Alacrity came in second with Persephone third, followed by Sam. Sigmagician, Pavlova and Flying Formula almost crossed the line together finishing 13 seconds apart. Rho, and Florence Agnes from the east Coast bought up the rear. The fleet then relaxed at the Sigmania Rum Party at Shepard's Wharf
